1 minute typing test

Type the words for one minute. You get your speed and accuracy, and the keys that cost you the most, each linked to a drill for that key.

How the score works

Words per minute counts the correct characters you typed, divided by five (the standard word length), per minute. Mistakes add nothing, so rushing does not help the score. Accuracy is correct keystrokes out of all keystrokes. Your best for each test length stays on this device, and only runs at 90% accuracy or better count.

What is a good typing speed?

There is no single official average. People who never learned touch typing often land somewhere around 30 to 45 wpm, and 60 or more is quick for everyday work. In Keyflow's own runs the cleanest lines were also the fastest: errors fell from about 11% on lines under 55 wpm to about 3% on lines over 75.

Getting faster

A test measures you; practice moves you. After a test, open the keys it names, or practise any key, row or finger. Keyflow races you against your own clean best and builds drills from the keys you miss.
